SPRING AND OPPORTUNITY!

Looking back on the picture of last years garden while it is still snowing out side brings back such warm memories. Memories of the sun and the dirt and yes even the weeds. The surprises and the disappointments all come flooding back as I turn my focus towards this summer on the horizon.  What will I do differently this year? Start my peas earlier? Mulch with cardboard?

The starts are under the lights waiting for the temperature outside to move up the scale to something above 60 consistently.

It is like Christmas when the little seeds start their journey toward becoming a fruit bearing plant (or vegetable as the case may be).  Every year is so different.  To me it is just a wonder to watch life come back from death each spring, slowly at first and then building to a crescendo of color and shape.

Last year's garden...
2009 garden is started in my green house also known as the master bathroom

The Garden is in!  We have tons of baby tomato plants & many other items planted.  The baby plants survived two nights in the garden and seem to be doing well.  It is always a little scarry to put your plants in the ground.  So many times I work really hard to grow plants from seed and then get them to the yard and they die.

There have been promises made that the goat shed will be finished soon...I can hardly wait.  I'm sure our neighbors can hardly wait also.
